Burglar Hits Christian Clothing Store (July 5, 2007)

Atlanta police hope some very clear surveillance video will lead them to a man who broke into a new clothing store in Southwest Atlanta. Police released the surveillance tape of last week's break-in Friday morning in the anticipation that someone will recognize the suspect.

The Castlebury neighborhood where the crime took place is described as an up-and-coming Atlanta neighborhood where new shops and restaurants are opening up regularly. One of those new businesses is a clothing store that was burglarized on July 5. What the burglar didn't know is that the store was equipped with a good alarm system and video system.

The suspect, who police said appears to be of college age, waited until the area was clear and then suddenly threw an object at the front door. But it took more than that for the suspect to get inside. When he did, all he took was a pile of T-shirts with the newly-designed "FOG ARMOR" logo.

"He appears to be very clean cut. He used a rock to enter the store and took some clothing items. We're just hopeful with such a good description that someone will recognize him," said Officer Michael England of the Zone 5 precinct.

The suspect was cut while busting through the window and he left some drops of blood behind. On its Web site, FOG ARMOR is described as a line of clothing that offers consumers a sense of spiritual awareness. The owner of the store said he hopes the suspect will wear one of the T-shirts and feel that awareness.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect should call the Crimestoppers number at 404-577-TIPS.
